Today I arrived at the asylum. Old, fat nurse took me took me inside and welcomed to the sanatorium. I carried my bags into my room, after which I was directed to a common space. I was greeted by one of the girls there cheerfully as she introduced herself. I can''t remember the name. It was supper time and I drank tea. They never had cheese in the closed ward. They said the patients made the table for supper together. I do not know how I will manage here. A woman sat next to me to eat, but fell asleep, snoring. The nurses did not notice. One of the men walked in a circle, from one room to another the whole evening, saying he was going to bed and nurses said goodnight every time. His pants were too big, I was afraid they would fall off. He was sweating. I''m distressed. Tomorrow I want out. I''m not that crazy.
... And Dawn Comes is slice of life LARP set in the modern time asylum. In the game people with mental health issues live their lives in an asylum while the medical staff attempts their best to help the patients. The game takes two days, starting on Friday morning and ending Saturday evening. The game is a realistic potrayal of asylum. The game has around 30 players (the number of players may change). The characters are written with the players, especially of the patients so they won''t be too tough to play. The larp contains a lot of internal playing, but the days have program so that nurses and patients have ordinary tasks to do.
Workshops would start on Thursday, the game would begin on Friday, continuing to Saturday evening, and the Sunday would be for debriefs and after-party.
The game is set to an indeterminate time and place, a kind of reflection of our world, with both new, existing drugs as well as the old therapy forms.
